Alicia practices therapeutically from a non-judgemental and whole person approach that celebrates the diversity and uniqueness of each individual. She approaches care from a social justice, anti-oppressive lens with the focal belief that all humans deserve healthcare that starts with compassion, dignity and respect. She celebrates all bodies and believes that people are born to be different and strives to honor those variations always.
Alicia’s training is rooted in Clinical Health Psychology and Nutrition from Bastyr University which enables her to provide effective, individualized, supportive, and grounded mental healthcare. She is both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Nutritionist (CN) and utilizes strengths-based curiosity and empathy as well as evidence-based information about the connections between mental wellness and physical wellness, with a special focus on the direct relationship between gut health and mental health. The Health At Every Size (HAES) model informs her non-stigmatizing approach to supporting whole person wellness.
Alicia’s clinical orientation draws from multiple modalities from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to Internal Family Systems (IFS) to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to to other somatically integrated modalities to support your journey. Her past clinical experience was as a frontline worker in an intense professional role where she managed highly stressful situations on a daily basis.
Alicia strives to support you in identifying opportunities and perhaps changes you can make to support your achievement of your therapeutic goals. Alicia may recommend incorporating nutrition and lifestyle modifications as well as compassion forward somatic practices, in order to provide you with more tools to navigate a new understanding of your life. Her techniques encourage more space for integration and balance to support a more grounded, values driven and sustainable experience of your life.
